1908 New Year's Eve / Happy New Year Postcard

Love this postcard.  Fantastic illustration and expression in the faces.  The third image is to show the great embossing of the postcard from the back (darkened to bring out the detail) and a closeup of the face that has a ton of expression.

Oh...., and Happy New Year!

The embossing on the back looks like it is the opposite of what it usually is. The parts that would normally be raised on the front look like they are raised on the back.

You're right, but it's one of those "illusions". The embossing is forward-facing and proper. It's one of the better embossings I've seen. From the front (in person) the excellent embossing really sets the imagery off the card nicely. I wish I knew who the artist was. Maybe you (Postcardy) or someone else might have some insight there. I'd really like to get a hold of some other postcards from this artist.

Brian, for not having very many New Year postcards, you have some of the best out there.

Thanks! I've made a New Year's resolution to get more New Year's postcards.
